Get to know Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. David A. Goodman, who serves patients in Georgia.

Dr. Goodman is an established orthopaedic surgeon of the hip, joint replacement, knee, shoulder & sports medicine. He is in practice with Resurgens Orthopaedics, seeing patients at the offices in Fayetteville and Griffin, Georgia.

Having grown to be one of the largest and most respected orthopaedic practices in the country, Resurgens Orthopaedics serves residents of Georgia, the southeast and beyond with excellent, innovative, patient-focused orthopaedic care. It is a leader in using minimally invasive techniques and on the forefront of proven technologies, including orthobiologics.

Back in 1989, Dr. Goodman graduated with his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University. He then went on to perform his residency in orthopaedic surgery at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.

Specializing in sports medicine and total joint reconstruction, the doctor is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.

Among his professional affiliations, Dr. Goodman is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Georgia Orthopaedic Society, and the Atlanta Orthopaedic Society. 

He holds privileges at Wellstar Spalding Regional Hospital, Piedmont Henry Hospital, Southern Regional Medical Center, Piedmont Fayette Hospital, and Resurgens Fayette Surgery Center.

Orthopaedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopaedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.

In honor of his clinical expertise, Dr. Goodman is the recipient of Patients’ Choice Award (2013, 2014, 2018) and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2013, 2018).
