Get to know Oncologist Dr. John Pegram Ford. Dr. Ford in the 1980s founded Actagen/lifecodes that introduced DNA based testing to human diagnostics. More recently Dr. Ford has developed a topical agent to mitigate the cutaneous toxicity (HFS) form the chemotherapeutic 5FU. Still, more recently he is working for FDA approval for a magnetoencephalography (MEG) based device to assess human cognition. Dr. Ford has also developed a dashboard for medical information display. Finally, together with Penn State researchers, Dr. Ford has published work on esophageal oncogenesis. This research continues with promising possibilities. Dr. Ford has been an oncologist affiliated with Mount Nittany Medical Center, based in State College, Pennsylvania form 2003 until 2016. Mount Nittany Medical Center is a 260-bed acute-care facility offering medical, surgical, diagnostic and community service. It is a part of Mount Nittany Health – which provides primary, specialized, emergency and surgical care to the residents of Central Pennsylvania.
