I feel sudden dizziness. Why is this?
There are a number of reasons for dizziness - anemia, hypertension, diabetes, thyroid disease, dehydration, etc. The fact that you have a heavy feeling in your head when you bend down suggests a sinus infection. The definition of vertigo is - a sensation of whirling and loss of balance, associated particularly with looking down from a great height, or caused by disease affecting the inner ear or the vestibular nerve; giddiness. It does not seem that you have vertigo by your description. I would recommend a physical exam and evaluation with lab tests. READ MORE

My daughter is very thin can you please suggest some weight gaining techniques.
First it is important to know whether your daughter's thinness is normal for her or abnormal. Is her body mass index (BMI) within the normal range for her. Some parents think their children are too thin, when in fact, they may weigh within the normal range for their age and body build. Children and parents do not always have the same body shapes. If she truly needs to gain weight It is important to determine why she is not gaining weight. Does she have an underlying medical condition? I would recommend that she have a compete physical. If everything is within normal limits, make sure she is getting enough protein in her diet. Exercise can help to increase her appetite and increase muscle mass. READ MORE
I am suffering from extreme fatigue and tiredness. Can I consume health supplements?
I would recommend you have a full medical evaluation before starting supplements because the supplements could make you feel better and mask an underlying medical reason for your tiredness. Many diseases can cause tiredness. Diseases that may cause tiredness include anemia (low hemoglobin), thyroid problems, diabetes, high blood pressure, Vitamin D deficiency, fibromyalgia, different arthritic diseases, low testosterone, and cancer. It would be important to treat these medical problems before taking unnecessary supplements. READ MORE

Eggs and flu shots
Some flu vaccines are made using eggs and may have a small amount of egg proteins in them. If you are truly allergic to eggs, you may have an allergic reaction to the flu vaccine. If you are truly allergic (get a rash, shortness of breath, trouble breathing, etc.) and are over 18 years old, you can receive the flu vaccine called Flublok. This vaccine is made chemically and is free of egg protein. It is also free of formaldehyde, antibiotics, gluten, gelatin, latex, thimerosal, and other preservatives. READ MORE
Why do I have a fever after my flu shot?
According to the CDC, the flu shot can cause mild side effects such as muscle and joint soreness, redness or swelling at the injection site, a low-grade fever and body aches. These symptoms should go away within two days. These side effects are mild and short-lasting when compared to symptoms you would feel with a bad case of the flu. Remember, because the flu vaccine is composed of the "dead" virus, you cannot get the flu from a flu shot. READ MORE
Can asthma go away?
In adults, asthma is considered a chronic disease that does not go away, unless the trigger for the asthma is removed. Since your symptoms went away so fast, you probably had an incident of reactive airway disease. Something such as a virus, an allergy causing substance or a chemical caused reversible airway narrowing resulting in wheezing. Once the illness or substance is removed, the wheezing stops. READ MORE
Why does my head hurt when I blow my nose?
When you blow your nose, you should not get a headache or feel pressure or pain. It sounds like you are getting a sinus headache because your sinuses may be swollen closed, congested with mucus or infected. The sinuses are hollow spaces in the face bones connected to the nose. Blowing your nose increases the pressure in your congested sinuses and that causes sinus pressure and pain. READ MORE

Many children take their first step at age 12 months but it is still within the normal range for the first step to take place from 12 months to 18 months. What is important is that your child continues to progress in her skills. If your child was a little late at rolling over, crawling, or sitting he may need a little more time to progress to walking. My baby blinks excessively. What's wrong?
Excessive Blinking in a baby is usually caused by a problem in the eyelids or front surface of the eye. I would recommend you have your child seen by your pediatrician or a pediatric ophthalmologist. The provider will be able to look at your baby’s eyes under a special light (a slit lamp) to make sure your baby doesn’t have an ingrown eyelash, a scratch on the front of the eye, and eye infection, a foreign body or just dry eyes.
