Crediting much of her success to her empathetic approach to treatment, Dr. Rubin believes in the importance of providing a loving, nurturing environment so that patients feel both comfortable and safe. In addition to her commitments at her practice, she serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Internal Medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine.

A seasoned researcher in her field, she serves as a principal investigator in numerous clinical trials. She is also an active participant in several community organizations, and a member of a number of professional and scientific societies.

In the early days of her academic career, Dr. Rubin earned her medical degree from SUNY Stony Brook  College of Medicine. She then went on to complete her residency and fellowship in hematology-oncology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. She also completed a research fellowship at Lankenau Hospital.

A member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine, hematology, and medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Hematology is the branch of medicine concerned with the study of the cause, prognosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases related to blood. Oncology is a branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. A hematologist-oncologist is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of blood diseases and cancers such as iron-deficiency anemia, hemophilia, sickle-cell disease, leukemia, and lymphoma.

On a more personal note, she was married to Raphael Rubin MD until he passed from glioblastoma multiforme. She has raised seven children, 3 of whom are physicians, and has multiple grandchildren. 

In her time off, she enjoys doing community service work. An avid athlete, she also enjoys running, biking, and summited Mount Kilimanjaro.
