Get to know Plastic Surgeon Dr. W. Tracy Hankins, who serves patients in Nevada.
With a dedication to patient safety and compassionate care that has earned him a reputation as one of the top plastic surgeons in the Nevada region, Dr. Hankins brings his skill and artistic eye to Hankins & Sohn Plastic Surgery Associates. His philosophy is simple, treat each patient as if they were a member of his own family, and strive to provide great results and great service.
With offices in Las Vegas and Henderson, Hankins & Sohn Plastic Surgery Associates is a plastic surgery group practice with over three decades of combined experience and expertise in providing the best in surgical care and world-class results to the greater Las Vegas valley. The team of medical professionals – Dr. Hankins, Dr. Sohn, and Dr. Jaiswal pride themselves on compassionate patient care, an excellent track record of safety, and consistent, natural results for all types of plastic surgery needs, from cosmetic facial, breast, and body contouring, to complex cancer, burn, and traumatic reconstruction.
Honed by years of experience, research, and education, Dr. Hankins specializes in facial, breast, and body aesthetics. He is individually one of the largest users of breast implants in the United States, and he lectures regularly to other plastic surgeons on breast aesthetics. That being said, he serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at Touro University, helping to further the education of the next generation of medical leaders.
The former Chief of Plastic Surgery at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center, he has been performing surgical and non-surgical facial and body rejuvenation treatments in Las Vegas since 2004. As the Co-Medical Director of Advanced Aesthetics Salon & Medical Spa, he helped build the practice on a foundation of exceptional service, attentive compassion, and natural-looking results, all while emphasizing the importance of patient education.
With a special interest in facial aesthetics and cosmetic injectables, he also serves on the advisory boards for many of the injectable companies, including Allergan, Medicis®, and Valeant. He enjoys sharing his techniques and knowledge with other injectors, and he acts as a trainer for Allergan and Medicis® and a master trainer for Sculptra®.
On the subject of his educational background, Dr. Hankins earned his medical degree from Indiana University and completed his undergraduate training at Davidson College in North Carolina. At Indiana University, he received the highly regarded Edwards Scholarship that is given to only four of the graduate students in the entire Indiana University system each year. He was also elected to the AOA Honor Society as a junior, an honor given to less than 5% of the medical school class.
Wanting to further his education, he went on to complete a residency in general surgery at Blodgett Hospital/St. Mary’s and a residency in plastic surgery at GRAMEC in Grand Rapids before going into private practice in Arizona for a period of ten years. He is extensively trained in breast surgery, as he worked closely with one of the premier breast surgeons in the country during the course. He is also trained in cosmetic surgery and well-versed in state-of-the-art techniques.
A member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the doctor is board-certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). The mission of the ABPS is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification, and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.
Plastic surgery is a surgical specialty involving the restoration, reconstruction, or alteration of the human body. It can be divided into two main categories – reconstructive surgery and cosmetic surgery. A plastic surgeon’s primary responsibility is performing surgical and non-surgical procedures, and they use a variety of reparative and reconstructive techniques to get the job done.
Well known for his compassionate nature and excellence in surgical results, Dr. Hankins actively participates in the advancement of the plastic surgery field by attending and leading seminars on innovative procedural techniques nationwide. He is frequently sought after as a guest expert on television shows and networks, including CBS’ “The Doctors,” TLC Network, and local news segments. Additionally, his patients have been featured in national magazines, including MAXIM and Playboy.
