Dr. Khan is a board-certified, fellowship-trained oncologist in practice with Great Lakes Cancer Management Specialists. He offers services at multiple Michigan locations, including Van Elslander Cancer Center (Grosse Pointe Woods), Macomb Professional Building (Warren), Macomb Medical Campus (Macomb Township), SJHMC Doctors Park (East China), and SJHMC Rochester Hills.
With a reputation of being one of the finest practices in all of the Great Lakes area, Great Lakes Cancer Management Specialists is committed to the highest standard of care. Founded in 1955, it is the longest established private practice in Southeastern Michigan specializing in hematology and medical oncology. All of the professional staff pride themselves in providing both personalized care close to home as well as state-of-the-art medical care that one usually associates with a major university medical center.
Following the completion of his medical degree from Dow Medical College in Pakistan in 1989, Dr. Khan relocated to the United States. Once there, he served his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in medical oncology at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak.
Following his training, he attained board certification in medical oncology through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
In association with Ascension, Dr. Khan is affiliated with Ascension River District Hospital; Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren; Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Madison Heights; Ascension St. John Hospital; and Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital.
In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), he is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Medical Association.
Dedicated to excellence, Dr. Khan has actively been involved in various research activities and has given presentations at both the national and international level. He has served as an investigator in several clinical trials and has been very active in organizing tumor board conferences.
Taking an active role in community activities, he has regularly participated in cancer support groups and assisted with the Delta County Cancer Alliance program. He has served on various cancer committees and has assumed a leading role in implementing new treatment strategies for cancer patients.
