A native of Iran, Dr. Ahmadi graduated with his medical degree from the Tehran University of Medical Sciences. Upon graduating, he relocated to Canada where he completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Toronto. Finally, he completed his fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at Mayo Clinic, Rochester.

Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in orthopedic surgery through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons. He is also board-certified by the Canadian Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

Recognized as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC), Dr. Ahmadi is an active member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Orthopedic Association, and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Ahmadi served as the Director of Shoulder & Elbow Surgery and Associate Professor of Orthopaedics at the University of Arkansas for ten years.  This included responsibilities at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Department of Orthopaedics.  He is a member of several education committees and has years of experience teaching residents, fellows, and other orthopaedic surgeons. 

Among his other roles, he serves as a Consultant for Best Doctors in America, Zimmer-Biomet, Tornier-Wright Medical, and is a member of the Shoulder and Elbow Evaluation Committee, and the Upper Extremity Practice Analysis Advisory Panel for the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

He has published numerous papers and is a reviewer for several journals. He holds several patents and has invented a novel approach for elbow arthroplasty that decreases risk of infection and lets the patient use the arm immediately after surgery. 

Voted one of the “Best Doctors in America” every year since 2015, Dr. Ahmadi holds several teaching awards, including the Walter G. Selakovich, MD Faculty Award for outstanding contribution to orthopedic training, and the Dean’s Teaching Award.
