Get to know Family Physician Dr. Cheryl L. Roberson, who serves patients in Wesley Chapel, Florida.

A dedicated family physician, Dr. Roberson treats patients aged 12 and older at TGMG Wesley Chapel, an affiliate of Tampa General Hospital.

Tampa General Hospital is a private not-for-profit hospital and one of the most comprehensive medical facilities in West Central Florida serving a dozen counties with a population in excess of 4 million. As one of the largest hospitals in Florida, it is licensed for 1,041 beds, and with more than 8,000 team members, is one of the region’s largest employers.

As an undergraduate, Dr. Roberson studied microbiology at the University of Kansas. She earned her medical degree at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, and completed her residency at the Via Christi Hospital St. Francis.

An active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the doctor is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.
