Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Carlos A. Hidalgo, who serves patients in Tarpon Springs, Florida.
For over 20 years, Dr. Hidalgo, a board-certified pediatrician, has been providing exceptional care for families with children from birth to 18 years old. He is the Owner & Medical Director of Tarpon Springs Pediatrics, serving all Northern Pinellas County (Palm Harbor, Tarpon Springs, Dunedin, Oldsmar and Clearwater) and West Pasco (Holiday, Trinity and New Port Richey) families.
Dedicated to providing the highest quality pediatric care, Tarpon Springs Pediatrics combines years of clinical experience and a strong bond with children and their families in order to provide the highest possible level of pediatric care. Services for children include: complimentary prenatal visits, newborn care, treatment of childhood illnesses, immunizations and preventive care, developmental screening, well visits ages 0-18 years, asthma management, physicals: daycare, school, camp, and sports, laboratory testing, ear piercing, all aspects of sick care (usually with same day appointments), evaluation and management of ADHD, autism, school difficulties, behavior problems, and developmental delays, as well as respiratory and asthma care.
A resident of Palm Harbor, Dr. Hidalgo obtained his medical degree from Universidad Central School of Medicine of Puerto Rico in 1981. He then completed his residency in pediatrics at the New York Medical College in 1985, and has been working in private practice in New York and Florida since then.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), he is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.
Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends people be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatricians provide medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. They are trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all of their developmental stages, as they grow and mature.
Having been in practice for over four decades, Dr. Hidalgo is the recipient of On-Time Doctor Award (2014), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2015, 2017), and Patients’ Choice Award (2017).
On a more personal note, he is the proud father of Isabella Hidalgo, a Cum Laude graduate from East Lake High School in 2009, currently serving in the U.S. Navy. He enjoys skiing and his favorite office snack in Kashi bars.
