Upon graduating with his medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine in 1989, Dr. Botelho went on to further his education. He performed his internship at Griffin Hospital, followed by his residency in internal medicine at Roger Williams Medical Center.

A member of the American College of Physicians, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Professionally, Dr. Botelho is affiliated with several medical centers and hospitals in his local area, including Roger Williams Medical Center, Kent Hospital, and Miriam Hospital.
