Bull is a highly experienced neonatologist who has been in practice for more than three decades. His career in medicine began in 1986 when he graduated from the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine in Florida. He later completed an internship and fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center. Dr. Bull also holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree. Dr. Bull is board certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics, and provides specialist care, support and treatment for infants and newborn babies. He also serves as an Expert Witness, giving his opinion to the courts on neonatal and perinatal medicine, and on critical care medicine related matters. Neonatology is a subspecialty of pediatrics that consists of the medical care of newborn infants, especially the ill or premature newborn. It is a hospital-based specialty, and is usually practiced in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). The principal patients of neonatologists are newborn infants who are ill or require special medical care due to prematurity, low birth weight, intrauterine growth restriction, congenital malformations (birth defects), sepsis, pulmonary hypoplasia or birth asphyxia.
