Maintaining fellowship status, Dr. Trimmer is a Masters of the American College of Osteopathic Internists (MACOI) and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC).
In addition, he has been an active member of the Heart Rhythm Society, the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, and the American Osteopathic Association.
Interventional cardiology is a branch of cardiology that deals specifically with the catheter based treatment of structural heart diseases. An interventional cardiologist is a cardiologist with one to two years of additional education and training in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular disease as well as congenital (present at birth) and structural heart conditions through catheter-based procedures, such as angioplasty and stenting.
