Get to know Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Bryan Trimmer, who serves patients in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dr. Trimmer is an interventional cardiologist who currently practices at Missouri Baptist Medical Center of the Barnes Medical Group in St. Louis, Missouri with Dr. Martin Schwarze. He has been practicing cardiology in St. Louis for 38 years. 

Helping patients maintain a heart-healthy life, his practice includes diagnostic and interventional, cardiac, peripheral vascular, TAVR and pacing procedures. Patients trust his expertise because he consistently provides high quality care that leads to positive and lasting health outcomes.

Back in 1979, Dr. Trimmer graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center – Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then went on to complete his residencies in internal medicine and cardiology at the Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital in Michigan, and his fellowship in cardiology at Detroit Osteopathic Hospital.  

Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in cardiovascular disease, internal medicine, and interventional cardiology by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM). The AOBIM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults.

Maintaining fellowship status, Dr. Trimmer is a Masters of the American College of Osteopathic Internists (MACOI) and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC). 

In addition, he has been an active member of the Heart Rhythm Society, the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, and the American Osteopathic Association. 

Interventional cardiology is a branch of cardiology that deals specifically with the catheter based treatment of structural heart diseases. An interventional cardiologist is a cardiologist with one to two years of additional education and training in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular disease as well as congenital (present at birth) and structural heart conditions through catheter-based procedures, such as angioplasty and stenting.

Among Dr. Trimmer’s various accolades include Patients’ Choice Award (2020, 2016, 2015), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2020, 2016, 2015), and On-Time Doctor Award (2020).
