Get to know Geriatrician Dr. Leonard S. Williams, who serves patients in Bay Pines, Florida.

Dr. Williams is a fellowship-trained geriatrician who is licensed to practice medicine in Connecticut and Florida. He is affiliated with Bay Pines VA Healthcare System.

Providing health care services to veterans in west central and southwestern Florida, Bay Pines VA Healthcare System is a level 1a, tertiary care facility headquartered in Bay Pines, Florida. Originally opened in 1933, the main medical center is located on 337 acres situated on the Gulf of Mexico approximately eight miles northwest of downtown Saint Petersburg. Its mission is “ to honor America’s Veterans by ensuring exceptional health outcomes that improve their well-being.”

A 1985 graduate of the University of Perugia School of Medicine in Italy, Dr. Williams relocated to the United States to further his education. Once there, he performed his residency in internal medicine at Interfaith Medical Center in 1989, and his fellowship in geriatric medicine at the University of Florida in 1991.

Deeply committed to the well-being of his patients, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine & hospice and palliative medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
