Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Orlando Valle Jr., who serves patients in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Valle Jr. is a board-certified generalist obstetrician-gynecologist. He is currently on the OB/GYN generalist faculty at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania.
With a passion for teaching, education, and motivational speaking, he started a movement known as Burn-Out Medicine, which is intended to help combat healthcare providers’ moral injury known as burnout.
“As healthcare providers, we have sacrificed time, finances, and health in order to help others only to be a part of a system that doesn’t facilitate our ideals. This leads to burnout, frustration, and in some cases, depression that negatively impacts our relationship with our loved ones and ourselves. I aim to help us seize the opportunity to renew our purpose, find joy in what we do, and spend more time focused on what is important through entrepreneurial education, personal development, and overall wellness” expressed Dr. Valle Jr.
Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, his mother and step-father sacrificed a lot to put him in a position to succeed and live a better life. Through them, he learned perseverance and resilience. Dr. Valle Jr. was able to get into medical school, graduating with his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in 2014.
Thereafter, he had the privilege of training at one of the most prestigious hospitals in the United States, The Johns Hopkins Hospital, successfully completing a residency in obstetrics and gynecology.
A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.
Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics and gynecology. An obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, is a healthcare professional who specializes in female reproductive health.
On a more personal note, Dr. Valle Jr. attributes his success to the love and support of his mother and father and his faith in God.
Outside of practicing medicine, he enjoys hiking, motivational speaking, going to Broadway shows and the movies, as well as teaching. His hobbies include basketball, baseball, football, target shooting, and archery. His favorite place to vacation is in Las Vegas, Nevada.
