Get to know General Dentist Dr. M.H. Peters, who serves patients in Houston, Texas.

With over 40 years of experience, Dr. Peters is a general dentist who is currently serving patients’ dental needs at his private dental practice, Peters Dental Associates in Houston, Texas. There, he offers knowledgeable, comprehensive family and cosmetic dentistry services. 

Seeing as how preventative care is important to maintaining proper oral health, Dr. Peters and his team of professionals at Peters Dental Associates strive to provide “dental health care” vs. “disease care.” “Building a foundation of trust by treating our patients as special individuals is vital to our success. We understand how uneasy some patients may feel about their dental visits, and how we can make a difference in providing a relaxing and positive experience. Our entire team is dedicated to providing you with excellent, personalized care and service to make your visits as comfortable and pleasant as possible” as stated on the dental practice’s website. 

Dr. Peters is a native Texan born in Odessa. He is a member of the first senior class from Memorial High School. After high school, he served honorably in the U.S. Army with tours in Europe and Vietnam, after which he was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant. After leaving the military, he returned home to Clear Lake, Texas and enrolled at the University of Houston. He graduated with honors with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Afterward, Dr. Peters attended Baylor Dental School, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors.  

Dr. Peters has served as Adjunct Professor at Baylor. He has also served as a volunteer dentist for University of Houston athletics and two low-income dental clinics. Dr. Peters is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the Greater Houston District Dental Society, the Texas Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and other volunteer organizations.

Dr. Peters is a member of University Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and Mission Team leader. His passion for mission work is demonstrated by leading groups annually to build churches in remote areas. He has done so for over 30 years. Dr. Peters’ ties to family, church, and community run deep throughout the Clear Lake area.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. As a general dentist, Dr. Peters diagnoses and treats dental issues and helps patients develop better oral hygiene regimens.
