Dr. Iqbal, an anesthesiologist and pain management specialist, has more than three decades of experience under his belt. In addition to having admitting privileges at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center and Southside Hospital, he is affiliated with Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue, New York.

Long Island Community Hospital served this richly diverse region as a community hospital for more than 60 years. And as the area has grown, so have they. Pertaining to his educational background, Dr. Iqbal earned his medical degree from the Jinnah Sindh Medical University in Karachi, Pakistan in 1987. Upon relocating to the United States, he went on to complete his internship at Nassau University Medical Center, followed by his residency in anesthesiology and his fellowship in pain medicine at State University of New York Upstate Medical University in New York.

Throughout his fruitful career, he has earned several awards and recognitions, including the Compassionate Doctor Recognition in 2018 and the Patients’ Choice Award in 2015, 2017, and 2018. He is fluent in both English and Urdu. 

Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine.
