Back in 1986, Dr. Goswami graduated from medical school at SCB medical college (Srirama Chandra Bhanja Medical College in Cuttack, Orissa, India. He completed subspecialization at the prestigious AIIMS(All India Medical Sciences Center) in New Delhi, India. Upon arriving in the United States on a J-1 visa to complete his internship and residency at Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center in New York, he went on to perform a subspecialty in nephrology at Oklahoma University Health Science Center in Oklahoma City. This was followed by additional superspecialization in transplant nephrology at Houston Methodist Hospital, which is affiliated to Cornell University.
Demonstrating a mastery of knowledge and skills, the doctor is dual board-certified both in internal medicine and nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Among his professional affiliations, he is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), a Life Fellow of the American College of International Physicians (FACIP), and a member of the American Society of Nephrology (ASN).
Locally in Texas, Dr. Goswami is affiliated with several hospitals including, St. David Hospital (Austin), Metropolitan Methodist Hospital (San Antonio), Santus Christa Rosa (San Antonio), and Memorial Herman (Houston).
He is setting up new Dialysis Centers in Winnie & Beaumont, Texas to help the local community. In addition, he plans to facilitate appropriate patients for kidney transplantation and a follow-up clinic for post-transplant immunosuppression and complications, as well as a CKD clinic for prevention and treatment of various kidney diseases and kidney stones, diabetic patients with progressive loss of kidney function, and patients losing blood and protein in urine.
In honor of his expertise, Dr. Goswami is the recipient of the“Doctors of the World’” award for his charitable work while in New York. He is also the recipient of the “Generation Geriatric Award of Excellence” while working in Tennessee where he worked in Government-designated underserved areas and was recommended for US citizenship, which he received in 2003.
