Dr. Mehra is an Allergist /Internal Medicine physician who enrolls patients into clinical trials to help bring new medications to us all. She is currently the Chief Medical Officer at Artemis Institute for Clinical Research in San Diego, California where she also serves as Principal Investigator of the Internal Medicine Division. “The relationship I develop with my patients is the most fulfilling part of my work. It is extremely rewarding and the reason I love medicine. I have a desire to help on a larger scale, and conducting research is my way of contributing to the field of medicine. The team at Artemis Research shares my desire to always put our patients first and provide the best customer experience to both patients and Sponsors.” said Dr. Mehra.

The Artemis Institute for Clinical Research was established in 2008 by a group of colleagues with extensive clinical research experience who shared a commitment to develop a more thoughtful and professional approach to conducting clinical trials. The Institute operates in three locations throughout Southern California: San Diego, San Marcos, and Riverside. Each site is fully equipped to conduct complex clinical research trials. Artemis Research currently enrolls patients in studies across 18 indications in two categories: behavioral health, including trials for Schizophrenia, Depression, PTSD and ADHD, as well as Internal Medicine, including trials for Osteoarthritis, Insomnia, Fibromyalgia, Migraines, Diabetes and Vaccines in healthy volunteers.

Dr. Mehra is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and in Allergy/Immunology by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI). She received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. After completing her residency in internal medicine at Scripps Mercy Hospital, she went on to complete her fellowship training in allergy/immunology at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, CA..

Dr. Mehra has been a Clinical Investigator since 2004. Her work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine. Her areas of research expertise include osteoarthritis, diabetes, fibromyalgia, and vaccine development.
