What can I eat or avoid eating to reduce plaque?
Thank you for your question. It sounds as if you are taking all the right steps towards a clean mouth. Some people have a tendency to create plaque and tartar faster than others. Many things can contribute such as dry mouth, mouth breathing, and some medications. Also, many foods have hidden sugars such as yogurt, wine, sauces, fruit juices, breads and cereals. Try to make sure you are well hydrated with water. If you find the plaque is still developing, dental cleanings every 4 months would help. Make sure to use an alcohol-free mouthwash as the alcohol kills bacteria initially, but will dry the mouth more. Also, use a tongue scraper to remove more bacteria from the mouth. READ MORE
Wisdom teeth removal
Fully erupted wisdom teeth can be more easily extracted and can be done by a general dentist. All general dentists are trained to extract wisdom teeth. In some cases, the teeth may be impacted in the bone or may lie close to a nerve or the sinus. These cases are usually referred to an oral surgeon, because they are more involved. Also, some patients may want sedation and that is often provided in an oral Surgery practice. READ MORE

Can I whiten my teeth with baking soda alone?
You can use baking soda to whiten teeth if mixed with water. Be sure to rinse all extra baking soda out of the mouth when you are done brushing and do not swallow the baking soda. An easier way to incorporate baking soda is to use a premade toothpaste such as Arm and Hammer or Mentadent. Always visit your dentist twice a year. READ MORE
