Over the course of his extensive and distinguished career, Dr. Gnassi has consistently provided invaluable mental health support, impacting the lives of countless individuals and earning the trust and respect of both his peers and the communities he has served. His enduring commitment to the field of psychiatry has made him a trusted authority, known for his unwavering dedication to enhancing the mental health of those he has had the privilege to work with.

A 1958 graduate of The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont, Dr. Gnassi went on to perform his internship and residency in psychiatry at University Hospital SUNY Health Science Center in 1959 and 1962, respectively. 

Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions. Psychiatrists evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. They conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results.
