A 1958 graduate of The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont, Dr. Gnassi went on to perform his internship and residency in psychiatry at University Hospital SUNY Health Science Center in 1959 and 1962, respectively. 

Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.
