Get to know Family Physician Dr. Monica Warhaftig, who serves patients in Memphis, Tennessee.

A devoted family physician specializing in geriatric medicine, Dr. Warhaftig works with patients at Tri State Community Health Center in Memphis, Tennessee.

Tri State Community Health Center strives to provide and deliver quality medical services to the underserved of Shelby County. Back in 1998, Dr. Warhaftig graduated with her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then went on to complete her residency in family medicine and her fellowship in geriatric medicine at the University of Miami in 2002 and 2003, respectively.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP), the doctor is board-certified in family medicine, geriatric medicine, addiction medicine, and hospice & palliative medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP). The AOBFP is an organization that provides board certification to qualified osteopathic physicians who specialize in delivering comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, genders, and addressing all parts of the body.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.

As a testament to her success, Dr. Warhaftig has been the recipient of the Tennessee Physician of the Year Award in 2017.
