Born and raised in Pakistan, he graduated with his medical degree from the Army Medical College Quaid-e-Azam University in 1988. After relocating to the United States, he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in 2000. Finally, he completed his fellowship in pulmonary disease & critical care medicine at Winthrop-University Hospital in 2003.
