Academically, she graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee.
Upon graduation from UT, she practiced as a general dentist for 3 years. While working as a general dentist she nurtured her love of pediatric dentistry and in 2007 she relocated to Washington D.C to begin her specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Howard University. She completed her residency in 2009 and began working with Dr. Oswald Thompson in southeast Washington, DC.
Passionate about her profession, the doctor completed the rigorous board certification process and she is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She maintains memberships in several professional organizations including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the College of Diplomates, the American Dental Association and the National Dental Association.
Pediatric dentistry is the branch of dentistry dealing with children from birth through young adulthood. Pediatric dentists are dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the young adult years. They have the experience and qualifications to care for a child’s teeth, gums, and mouth throughout the various stages of life.
