In regards to his educational background, Dr. Fowler completed his Medical Degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1981 and pursued further training through a residency in general surgery at UMass Chan Medical School from 1981 to 1982. Following this, he undertook a sports medicine research fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center from 1982 to 1983, and subsequently completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at UPMC Medical Education from 1983 to 1986.
Dedicated to surgical excellence, Dr. Fowler holds the distinction of being a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
Recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (FAAOS), Dr. Fowler has been actively involved as the team doctor for Gateway High School since 1989 and as the team orthopedist for Penn Hills since 2016, demonstrating his enduring dedication to both his patients and the broader community.
