Absolutely. I treat neck and throat issues 40-50 times per week (for 6 years now) and never had a single issue. Mild bruising is potential but that isn’t a risk, it’s more of a cosmetic issue for the few days before it heals. READ MORE
Can a fever be treated with acupuncture?
Yes, acupuncture can help lower fever. It’s important to discern if the fever is acute or been there for a while, and the gradient of the fever. Fever can very possibly be a result of COVID-19 infection/illness, in which case it’s best to seek medical attention at a large institution like the hospital. If the fever is acute and considerably high, it’s better to take medications to lower the fever, and if it’s low grade and chronic, it’s best to figure out what’s causing the fever - which can be a plethora of things and would each require very different treatment. Absolutely. Acupuncture helps inflammation in general, including arthritis. The two mechanisms of how it works for arthritis are as follows: 1. All of our body's tissues (including bone and joints - in the case of arthritis) need constant blood flow to maintain and function properly. Acupuncture performed around a joint stimulates nerves and blood vessels in the local area to dilate (open up like the aperture of a camera's lens) and rush in fresh blood, and in an abundant amount. 2. Blood carries with it many of our body's hormones, neurotransmitters, and immune cells - all of which fight inflammation in a natural way. How long do the effects of acupuncture last?
It’s case dependent, but generally even if the treatments aren’t very strong, it’ll last for a week or so. Most cases 6-8 weeks and up to 12 for 80% of cases. Best case is 6-8 months. READ MORE
