Being an experienced otolaryngologist, Dr. Papageorge specializes in diseases and disorders of the ear, nose, and throat as well as other parts of the head and neck. Her operative interests include surgery for blocked tear ducts, reconstructive nasal surgery, endoscopic sinus surgery, laser surgery for hoarseness, and snoring disorders. 

Treating both adult and pediatric patients since 1987, she is in practice with Manhattan Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery with offices in New York City, New York. She is also an active staff member of Manhattan Eye, Ear, & Throat Institute (serving as Surgeon Director Emeritus), Lenox Hill Hospital, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, and Mount Sinai Queens.

Alongside her clinical role, she serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology at Cornell University Weill School of Medicine, and as a Clinical Instructor at the New York University Grossman School of Medicine.

Prior to embarking on her medical journey, Dr. Papageorge obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Art from Stony Brook University, and her Master of Science degree in Immunology-Pathology from Boston University.

In 1981, she earned her medical degree from Northeast University School of Medicine ‘Dr. José Sierra Flores’. After relocating to the United States, she went on to perform her internships in medicine and surgery at New York Hospital of Queens. This was followed by a residency in otolaryngology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear. 

With a broad interest in all aspects of otolaryngology, the doctor is board-certified in otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. The non-profit organization serves the public by assuring that diplomates meet the standards of training, knowledge, and professionalism through initial and continuing certification.

A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Dr. Papageorge is a member of the Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, the Rhinologic Society, the Women’s Medical Association of NYC, the Hellenic Medical Society, and the Romanian Medical Society.

Otolaryngology is the oldest medical specialty in the United States. Otolaryngologists, also known as ear, nose, and throat doctors, specialize in disorders of the head and neck, ranging from hearing loss to cancer.
