    The most important aspect of the shoulder dislocation is to make sure that it is well reduced, which will require a chest X-ray. Once it’s confirmed to be well reduced, the arm should be immobilized in a sling for 1 to 2 weeks depending on your age, and then rehabilitated with physical therapy, most of which can be done by the patient.
