After being raised in southern California, Dr. David LaRue received his Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO. While there, he earned the honor of Student-Athlete All American NCAA Division 2 in basketball. He received his medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, in Pomona, CA in 1990. He spent one year at Detroit Osteopathic Hospital where the superb, rigorous training earned him a spot in the Kaiser Fontana Family Medicine Residency, the first DO to do so. In 1993, he graduated and became board certified in family medicine. Dr. LaRue then joined the San Diego Kaiser Medical Group, and after practicing for 30 years in family medicine, he is excited to have joined the urgent care group at SDSM in 2019.
Dr. LaRue has extensive experience to offer patients expert diagnosis and treatment for all their urgent care needs, and his goal is to provide this in a timely fashion. He considers it an honor and a privilege to engage in the doctor-patient relationship.
