Get to know Private Practice Dr. Jerald P. Vizzone, who serves patients in Montclair, New Jersey.

A board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Vizzone sees patients at his private practice in Montclair, New Jersey. He specializes in minimally invasive orthopedic surgery-including arthroscopic surgery of the cervical and lumbar spine.

With a broad educational background, he graduated cum laude from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and then attended a graduate program at Rutgers University. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Subsequently, Dr. Vizzone went on to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Cabrini Medical Center (New York Medical College) and Peninsula Hospital Center, and served as a Visiting Resident at the Alfred I. DuPont Institute. He also completed a one year residency in general surgery at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and an osteopathic internship at Metropolitan Hospital – Parkway Division.

Following his training, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery, which is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the musculoskeletal system.

Continuously advancing his efforts, he is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, the New Jersey Orthopedic Society / Orthopedic Surgeons of New Jersey, the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, the North American Spine Society, the New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, and the American Osteopathic Association. 

Furthermore, Dr. Vizzone is a member of the Alumni Association at the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, an Executive Board Member of the Newark Police Athletic League, and a member of the New Jersey State Law Enforcement Officers Association.

Among his other roles, he can be found on staff at Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center, Mountainside Hospital, and Harrison Endo Surgical Center, LLC.

Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.

As a testament of his dedication to his field, Dr. Vizzone has been the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award (2010), and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2010).
