Get to know Internist Dr. Douglas P. Zmolek, who serves patients in New York.

Dr. Zmolek is a board-certified internist who lends his skills and expertise to serve patients at Crouse Medical Practice in New York. Crouse Medical Practice, established by Crouse Hospital, is a practice that offers an extensive array of services, including primary care, cardiology, endocrinology, pulmonology, sleep medicine, diabetic education, neurology, neurosurgery, stroke care, neurovascular and endovascular neurosurgery, brain tumor surgery, laboratory services, and radiology services.

In addition to serving patients at Crouse Medical Practice, Dr. Zmolek has been a Principal Investigator at Central New York Clinical Research in Manlius, New York since 1996. The mission of Central New York Clinical Research is to safely bring the most up-to-date medical treatments to the community via clinical research trials, expanded medical options, and advanced medical research. 

Prior to his current endeavors, Dr. Zmolek served as attending physician in the Emergency Department of Crouse Hospital from 1988 to 1996, as well as in private practice with CNY Internists from 1996 to 2014. 

He is a member of the American Medical Association, which allows him to remain at the forefront of his challenging field. He also holds board certification in internal medicine with the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

After earning his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1985, Dr. Zmolek went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. Dr. Zmolek is uncompromising in his dedication to the well-being of his patients.
