Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine – Rosalind Franklin University in May 1993. Subsequently, he performed his medical and surgical residency at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County from June 1993 to July 1994.

Board Certified in Diabetic Foot Care, Pain Management, and Wound Care by the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry, Dr. Alter is an esteemed member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Wound Management, the American Academy of Pain Medicine, and the Alabama Podiatric Medical Association. 

Beyond his medical practice, Dr. Alter is actively involved in community service, particularly in diabetes awareness and education programs, and serves as an international festival volunteer.
