Dr. Arora is a competent ophthalmologist who, since October of 2021, has been serving as a Glaucoma Research Assistant at the University of Southern California Roski Eye Institute.

Passionate about patient-centered care and data driven, he is experienced with scientific engagement, translation, phase I-IV research, medical monitoring, clinical trial execution, and clinical development. He has experience in patient care, healthcare delivery, clinical research, pharmaceuticals, scientific marketing, clinical development, medical monitoring/pharmacovigilance, and medical affairs. 

With a broad educational background, Dr. Arora graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Sciences from Western University in 2009. He then went on to earn his medical degree from the  Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine in 2012.

Continuing his residency training at the University of Alberta, Dr. Arora gained exposure to broad clinical areas of medicine, including neurology, rheumatology, plastic surgery, and ophthalmology; presented over 30 educational presentations to colleagues physicians, nurses, and researchers, locally and nationally; contributed to the development of a stepwise surgical curriculum, and complex patient triage protocol, in addition to several research projects and quality improvement initiatives; and managed patients with all types of disease, using both medical and surgical treatments under guidance from experts.

Throughout his line of work, Dr. Arora has worked as the medical director, senior vice president at RevHealth (December 2021 – November 2022); senior medical writer at EVERSANA (March 2021 – November 2021); medical monitor and medical director at Blueguide Inc. (October 2020 – March 2021); medical advisor at AbbVie (April 2019 – October 2020); resident physician in ophthalmology at Alberta Health Services (July 2013 – November 2018); clinical research manager and site monitor at the University of Alberta (July 2013 – July 2015); and as the telemedicine program manager and clinical research director at the University of Alberta (June 2012 – July 2013). 

Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery, which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. Ophthalmologists are experts in the diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye. They may provide routine care such as vision testing, as well as prescribe and fit eyeglasses or contact lenses. However, ophthalmologists are also surgeons. They repair traumatic injuries to the eye and perform cataract, glaucoma, and corneal surgery.
