Get to know Diagnostic Radiologist Dr. Daniel R. Fox, who serves patients in Knoxville, Tennessee.

A skilled diagnostic radiologist, Dr. Fox works with Vista Radiology group in Knoxville, TN. 

Located in Knoxville, Tennessee, Vista Radiology serves the Covenant Healthcare system as well as other hospitals in the area.

Pertaining to his educational pursuits, Dr. Fox earned his medical degree from The University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences in 1987. He then went on to complete his internship in general surgery at the Naval Hospital in 1988, and his residency in diagnostic radiology at Baptist Memorial Hospital in 1996.

As a testament of his success, he is board-certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The ABR is a not-for-profit physician-led organization that oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.

Licensed to practice medicine in multiple states, Dr. Fox is affiliated with Greene County Hospital – East Campus, Lonesome Pine Hospital, Franklin Woods Community Hospital, Indian Path Community Hospital, Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson County Community Hospital, Johnston Memorial Hospital, Sycamore Shoals Hospital, and Unicoi County Hospital.

Prior to this he served as an Assistant Professor within the Department of Radiology at The University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine.

A Council Member of the Tennessee Radiological Society, Dr. Fox is also an active member of the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, the American Roentgen Ray Society, the Southern Medical Association, the Tennessee Medical Association, and the Northwest Tennessee Medical Association. 

Diagnostic radiology refers to the field of medicine that uses non-invasive imaging scans to diagnose a patient. The tests and equipment used sometimes involves low doses of radiation to create highly detailed images of an area. A diagnostic radiologist is a medical doctor who specializes in diagnosing and treating disease and injury, using medical imaging techniques such as x-rays, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), nuclear medicine, positron emission tomography (PET), fusion imaging, and ultrasound.
