He earned his undergraduate degree from the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, and  his medical degree from the Escuela Colombiana de Medicina in Bogotá, Colombia. He  completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Advocate Ravenswood/Illinois Masonic  Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, affiliated with the University of Illinois at Chicago. He was  PGY 1 Resident of the year as well as Chief Resident. An authority in the field, he has been  board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine since 1999. 

During his 23 years in practice, Dr Silva has had several leadership roles including provider  board member of the JSA Care Partners Pioneer ACO, board member of the Tampa Bay  Integrated Healthcare Network, provider board member of Maxhealth2 Medicare Direct  Contracting Entity, and currently Medical Director at MaxHealth. He has also had teaching  roles as Clinical Preceptor with Chamberlain University, Simmons University, and Nova  Southeastern University. 

Among his various accolades, he’s had a five star HEDIS award in 2019.
