Educated in Sri Lanka, Dr. Dissanayake graduated with his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from North Colombo Medical College/Medical Faculty of Kelaniya University in 1995. He then relocated to the United States, performing his residency in internal medicine at Eastern Tennessee State University, James H. Quillen College of Medicine and VA Mountain Home in Johnson City, Tennessee.
