Majority of her earlier career had been spent in the VA system serving the Nation’s heroes. She worked in Pittsburgh VA Healthcare system as a PrimaryCare and Women’s Health provider, as well as various roles such as section chief of Primary Care until she was promoted to the  Chief of Medicine Specialty services at Columbia VA HealthCare system in SC, overseeing critical care, inpatient medicine, all medicine specialty, sleep and vascular labs. She also has experience and certifications in conducting disability exams, complicated opinions for malpractice and exposure claims, occupational health, resident teaching and clinical research. She has received numerous awards and recognitions through her career in addition to receiving significant training and experience in HealthCare Leadership.

Before embarking on her professional journey, she obtained her medical degree from Hacettepe University School of Medicine in Ankara Turkey. Upon relocating to the United States, she completed her residency and academic Internal Medicine fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine.

In pursuit of clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
