Get to know Endocrinologist Dr. David J. Domenichini, who serves patients in Bloomfield, Connecticut.

A seasoned endocrinologist, Dr. Domenichini works with patients at his private practice in Bloomfield, Connecticut. He also maintains staff privileges at multiple hospitals in the area, including Bristol Hospital and Hartford Hospital.

Education-wise, he received his undergraduate degree from Upsala College in 1980, and graduated with his medical degree from the Sapienza University of Rome in Italy in 1987. Upon returning to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in 1992, and his fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes & metabolism at the UCONN Health Center in 1994.

An expert in his field, the doctor is board-certified in endocrinology, diabetes, clinical metabolism and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

On a professional level, Dr. Domenichini is an active member of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Endocrinology, and the American Diabetes Association.

Endocrinology is a branch of biology and medicine dealing with the endocrine system, its diseases, and its specific secretions known as hormones. Endocrinologists have the training to diagnose and treat hormone imbalances and problems by helping to restore the normal balance of hormones in the body. The common diseases and disorders of the endocrine system that endocrinologists deal with include diabetes mellitus, as well as adrenal, pituitary, and thyroid disorders, among others.
