Dr. Birgit Toome is a highly esteemed dermatologist treating a wide range of skin, hair, and nail conditions. After managing her own large practice in South Jersey for 30 years, she is honored to join her esteemed colleagues at Advanced Dermatology, PC in Sewell, New Jersey.
Known for her expertise in dermatologic surgery, Botox, fillers, and cosmetic dermatology, Dr. Toome brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to her practice. Her professional interests span skin cancer screening and surgery, general dermatologic surgery, and personalized treatments for conditions such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis. She is committed to helping patients find tailored solutions to manage their skin concerns effectively.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Toome pursued her undergraduate education at Princeton University and received her medical training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She then completed her internship in internal medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, followed by a residency in dermatology at the University of Rochester.
Dr. Toome is board certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology and holds fellowship status with the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. Her commitment to excellence in dermatologic care is evident in her extensive experience and dedication to her patients’ well-being.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Toome is a respected educator, having conducted training courses for physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants on the use of fillers and toxins. She serves as a National Trainer for Botox Cosmetic, Allergan, and is dedicated to advancing the field of dermatology through education and mentorship.
