Get to know Neurologist Dr. Shahid Riaz, who serves patients in Florida.

Dr. Riaz is a board-certified neurologist working at Neurodiagnostic Center of Central Florida. He helps patients who have conditions of the nervous system, such as Parkinson’s disease or epilepsy.

Locally, he is affiliated with AdventHealth Heart of Florida, Orlando Health – Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, Central Florida Regional Hospital, Orlando Health-Health Central Hospital, and Orlando Health-Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Educated in Pakistan, Dr. Riaz graduated with his medical degree from Jinnah Sindh Medical University in 1987. He then relocated to the United States, performing his residency at Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center in 1994 and his fellowship in child neurology at USA Health University Hospital in 1998.

With over 35 years of experience, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.
