As the Chief of Plastic Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital since 2018, he has dedicated his career to advancing surgical techniques while providing compassionate care to his patients.
Before embarking on his professional journey, he graduated with honors from Duke University in 1998 and earned his medical degree from the prestigious Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. He excelled in multiple disciplines, receiving honors in Plastic Surgery, General Surgery, Urology, and Obstetrics/Gynecology.
Subsequently, Dr. Chang completed a combined residency in general surgery and plastic & reconstructive surgery at Yale University, where he not only honed his surgical skills but also served as Chief Administrative Resident. His advanced training in microvascular and reconstructive surgery earned him the Yale Microvascular Certificate, and he was the proud recipient of the Yale Plastic Surgery Scholastic Award in 2009.
Thereafter, he enriched his expertise with a fellowship in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, focusing on functional rhinoplasty, facial rejuvenation, and aesthetic surgeries for the breast and body. His dedication to the art and science of plastic surgery has made him a sought-after expert in the field.
In addition to his clinical accomplishments, Dr. Chang is deeply committed to humanitarian efforts. In 2007, he volunteered in Thailand with Changing Children’s Lives, Inc., where he provided surgical care to children suffering from facial deformities, including cleft lips and palates, as well as congenital hand and foot deformities.
