Dr. Bradley Nordyke is a general practitioner practicing in Brownsville, TX. He sees children and adults including pregnant women and infants. Inititally serving in the US Navy, which put him through medical school, as the Senior Flight Surgeon at Naval Air Station Guam where he was assigned to run the flight line clinic where he was in charge of 14 staff, xray, lab, pharmacy, small emergency room and ambulance as well as in charge of the medical part of emergency evacuations from ships at sea and local nearby islands during Search and Rescue missions, he was the de facto flight surgeon for HC-5, the helicopter squadron usually doing the SAR missions and was also tasked to do 12 hour emergency room shifts every other weekend at Naval Hospital Guam. During his first two years in Guam he was awarded Flight Surgeon of the Year Pacific Fleet 1992, a Navy Commendation Medal and Navy Achievement Medal (two awards). He also served as a Pediatric Advanced Life Support instructor and while as an intern at Naval Hospital Charleston, recieved a Humanitarion Medal for his efforts when that area was struck by Hurricane Hugo. He stayed an extra one and a half years beyond his obligation to be the flight surgeon for VQ-5, a carrier based jet squadron stationed at Guam at their request. After the Navy, Dr. Nordyke worked two years for a pediatrician in Brownsville before opening his own practice that he had for 25 years. When he decided to sell his office and retire, he was requested to work at the Brownsville Community Health Center which provides services for mostly indigent people. He is currently working there half time and enjoys it tremendously.
