Dr. Balmir is a nephrologist who is currently serving patients at Mount Sinai Brooklyn in Brooklyn, New York. Mount Sinai Brooklyn, a proud member of the Mount Sinai Health System, is a state-of-the-art community hospital located in Midwood, with world class clinical services. The mission of Mount Sinai Brooklyn is to provide the residents in the major communities in the southern sections of Brooklyn with safe, high quality and compassionate patient care. 

Dr. Balmir earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2000. He then went on to complete his residency in nephrology at the Jacobi Medical Center. 

Dr. Balmir is board-certified in both internal medicine and nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the kidneys including the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy.
