Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Hatem received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Florida International University and received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Atlantic Health System and at the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in New Jersey.

During his time in medical school, Dr. Hatem received the award for Resident of the Year in 2010 and in 2011, as well as being named the Administrative Chief Resident from 2012-2013. He also received the Chairman’s Acknowledgement award in 2010, the Clinical Excellence Award in Gynecological Surgery in 2013, and the Consultant of the Year by Bluewater Emergency Partner.

Distinguished as a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.
