Dr. Nichter has been performing plastic surgery in Southern California since 1985. Throughout his career, he has attained recognition from doctors and patients for his outstanding surgical skills, compassion, and warm way with patients.
Dr. Nichter serves his patients at his private practice – Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery – located in Newport Beach, California. There, he has performed tens of thousands of aesthetic surgeries for the face, breasts and body including his signature LiteLift® facelift and California Breast Lift®, as well as breast augmentation, breast revision, breast explantation, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), mommy makeover, liposuction and fat transfer (including Brazilian butt lift and Natural Breast Augmentation), labiaplasty and vaginoplasty. He also specializes in minimal short scar techniques for many procedures.
Dr. Nichter is a Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery (Vol) USC and UCI and past Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Hoag Hospital, which is known to be one of the largest departments of plastic surgery in the world.
Dr. Nichter holds professional memberships with several organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the California Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).
An honors graduate of Boston University School of Medicine, Dr. Nichter went on to complete his internship and residency in general surgery at UCLA Medical Center. Subsequently, he completed his residency in plastic surgery at the University of Virginia. In addition, Dr. Nichter completed several advanced fellowships in plastic surgery at the University of Virginia, as well as a Masters of Science degree in Plastic Surgery. Dr. Nichter has written more than 150 peer review journal articles, book chapters and a book on plastic surgery. He has also trained and served as a mentor to multiple plastic surgery residents and fellows prior to relocating to Orange County in 1993 to concentrate on his true love: providing exceptional personalized and compassionate care to his patients while enabling them to achieve their goals.
In his free time, Dr. Nichter serves as the Medical Director and Founder of Plasticos Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving lives through reconstructive plastic surgery in the United States and worldwide. To date, he has led or participated in more than 100 medical missions in multiple countries and continents, training hundreds of surgeons and countless medical personnel, as well as overseeing the treatment of several thousand people for whom deformity would have been a life sentence. One of his missions to Vietnam was documented and turned into a film – The Story of Healing – which earned an Oscar Academy Award.
Plastic surgery is a surgical specialty involving the restoration, reconstruction, or alteration of face and body. As a plastic surgeon, Dr. Nichter has performed countless surgeries, including cosmetic surgery and reconstructive surgery, which have changed the shape or appearance of part of a patient’s body.
