What could be the reason my 30 day old baby is crying since morning?
Make sure there is no other changes such as: vomiting, no bowel movement or abnormally looking stool, distended abdomen or inflamed red skin around her umbilicus, something in the cloth that could cause pain (like buttons rubbing baby's chin), or even coiled hair around her fingers or toes. If nothing of that nature, then it is colic. Make sure you burp her well after each feed so that you get all the swallowed air out. Putting her knees against the abdomen may help her to pass gas and or bowel movement. If she is breastfeeding, try to avoid consuming onion and garlic. If the problem continues, you need to see a pediatrician. READ MORE
My baby is constipated for a week. What can I do?
First, you must make sure he/she is getting enough milk. You will know that when he/she has around 6 wet diapers a day and gains weight when weight is measured using the same scale. If that is reassured, you can dilute one teaspoon of prune juice in an ounce of water in a bottle and let him/ger nipple it once. Do not use it often, as it can cause severe diarrhea. READ MORE

What could be cause of sepsis in a newborn?
Sepsis in neonates can present in many ways. Therefore, whenever a baby has ANY symptom, doctors will draw blood culture and start antibiotics. The vast majority of times, the baby does not have sepsis, blood culture does not grow bacteria and antibiotics will be discontinued. From the hindsight, the baby did not need antibiotics. However, if there is a 1% chance for an infant to be septic and did not start antibiotics timely, we may loss the baby. Get Outlook for iOS
What should I eat on an empty stomach when pregnant?
Generally, there are no restrictions with pregnancy. Make sure to take your pregnancy (prenatal) vitamins and consume enough calcium from milk and/or milk products. Get Outlook for iOS
