Board-certified pediatrician, Dr. Harmady, has been practicing for more than two decades. She offers comprehensive medical care for infants, children, and adolescents at Beyond Pediatrics in Red Bank, New Jersey.

A member of the cleft lip/palate craniofacial team at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, Dr. Harmady was inspired to become a doctor based on her personal experiences of being born with a cleft palate, as well as investigating treatments for malignant melanoma in the molecular biology lab of Dr. Sidney Pestka. For over a decade, she chaired the Performance Improvement Committee at Monmouth Medical Center.
At present, she serves as a Clinical Professor at both Monmouth University and Georgetown University. Additionally, she is involved with the New Jersey Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics on programs to advocate for children with special needs and behavioral health issues.
Born and raised in Old Bridge, New Jersey, Dr. Harmady started her academic career at Rutgers, working on medical research with interferon and melanoma while completing her bachelor’s degree. She graduated from medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was awarded for her services as Clinic Director of the Homeless Outreach Project, which provided healthcare at different shelters and on the streets of Center City. She then returned to New Jersey to complete her residency in pediatrics at Monmouth Medical Center.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the doctor is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP), which is one of the 24 certifying boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties. Founded in 1933, the ABP is an independent, nonprofit organization whose certificate is recognized throughout the world as a credential signifying a high level of physician competence. Certification by the ABP has one objective, to promote excellence in medical care for children and adolescents.
Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends people be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. As a pediatrician, Dr. Harmady provides medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. She is trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all of their developmental stages, as they grow and mature.
In addition to her current affiliation with Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune City, Dr. Harmady has volunteered her medical services at the Parker Clinic in Red Bank for over a decade. What’s more, every 2 years, she returns to Guatemala to work with the Hospital De La Familia.
Outside of practicing medicine, her hobbies are gardening, kayaking, cycling, needlepoint, reading, traveling, and spending time with her dogs.
