The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after he earned his medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in 1997. Upon graduation, he went on to perform his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at the Detroit Medical Center. This was followed by a foot and ankle fellowship within the Department of Orthopedics at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine in 2003.
Having been practicing medicine for over two decades, Dr. Meehan Jr. is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
Excelling in his efforts, he remains an active member of several professional organizations. These include: the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Michigan Orthopedic Society, the Mid-America Orthopedic Association, and the Association of Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
