Well-versed in the field of nephrology, Dr. Waterman has medical privileges with Jupiter Medical Center and Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center in Florida.

Pertaining to his academic background, Dr. Waterman earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1981. He followed up by completing his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Metropolitan Hospital in 1982 and 1984, respectively. Finally, he completed a fellowship in nephrology at the Metropolitan Hospital in 1986.

A Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Internists (FACOI), the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM). The AOBIM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults.

Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the kidneys. It is the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy. Nephrologists have advanced training in treating kidney disease. They diagnose and treat kidney failure, as well as help patients by prescribing medications, offering special diet advice, and coordinating dialysis care or kidney transplantation when it becomes necessary.
