Recognized as a well-versed hospitalist, Dr. Ruck’s interests are in caring for the hospitalized patient and helping patients transition from inpatient to outpatient care. She is in practice with The Hospitals of Providence Transmountain Campus, a full-service hospital with 106 beds in northwest El Paso, Texas. 

Licensed to practice medicine in Texas and Missouri, she is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Having always loved everything science, Dr. Ruck credits her grandfather, who majored in chemistry, for fostering this interest. She spent a lot of time with him while she was a child and he was always talking about and promoting science. From this childhood beginning, she planned to be a doctor.

Born and raised in El Paso, she earned her medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. She then went on to perform her residency in internal medicine at Washington University in St. Louis, and subsequently stayed on as faculty in the division of Hospital Medicine where she was a clinical hospitalist for two years before changing tracts to become an academic hospitalist.

As an academic hospitalist, Dr. Ruck has a passion for teaching residents and medical students. She serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of General Medicine – Transmountain of the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso.
