A determined cardiologist, Dr. Gidseg currently practices as a member of Suffolk Heart Group with privileges at Southside Hospital of Bay Shore, Good Samaritan Hospital, and St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center.

The Suffolk Heart Group has been providing comprehensive cardiovascular care to the residents of Long Island for over 50 years. It is devoted to providing state of the art care in cardiology to its patients and to treat them with respect, empathy, and professionalism.

After graduating with distinction from Cornell University in 1999, Dr. Gidseg went on to earn his medical degree at the Cornell University Weill Medical College in 2003, graduating Alpha Omega Alpha. He then completed his internship and residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center in 2006, where he served as an assistant chief resident.

Subsequently, he remained at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell for his fellowship in cardiovascular disease, which he completed in 2009. He received advanced training in nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography and cardiac CT angiography, and is board-certified in each of those disciplines, as well as in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine, by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).

Maintaining fellowship status, Dr. Gidseg is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP), and Fellow of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (FASNC).

Continuously advancing his efforts, he is an active member of the American Society of Echocardiography, the Suffolk County Medical Society, the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Heart Association, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, and the American Medical Association. He is also certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS).

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).
